A Year of WAHMderful Experiences!

Being a Work-At-Home-Mom (WAHM) has been one of the greatest decisions I've ever made. It has been one year and almost a month since I've made that decision. I didn't even think twice about working and staying at home. My babies were the MAIN reason why I decided to make the switch.

It wasn't easy. But God was with me all throughout my journey. I know because He kept me up during my "sleepless" nights. He helped me land good jobs and yes He kept me strong and healthy eventhough I stayed up all night.

Many people would think that working at the comforts of your home is as easy as 1,2,3... I'd have to disagree with that. There are many times that I am tempted to go to bed and sleep instead of working. Times wherein I want to eat and just surf the internet instead of typing. Times wherein I'd say, "I'll do that later..." But then instead of giving in to those temptations... I think of the PROS of why I chose this type of job. Why I should love it and respect it. And I'm going to share them with you so that you too can enjoy and decide to be a WAHM.(:

WAHM Life (:

My (One Year) WAHMRealizations:

1. Working at home requires a LOT of discipline.
Yes I know going to an actual office also requires discipline. But same as staying at home, only this time you control your time. I'm very lucky because my work right now is a bit flexible. But still, I need to discipline myself to work on a deadline. To not get tempted to do other stuff except my tasks.

By working at home, I was able to know and set my priorities. Knowing what is more important and how I can manage my time.

2. Working at home is the BEST "multi-task" teacher.
I thought it would be easy since my husband helps me with everything. But no. Since I am at home and the kids can see me, they still want "mommy" to be by their sides, to play with. I love how working at my own place and pace taught me how to juggle tasks and finish them on time. I'm not saying I'm perfect, but still having multiple tasks made me feel important and inspired to get things done.

3. Working at home means I get to see and EXPERIENCE my babies grow.
This is honestly the main reason why I wanted to stay at the comforts of my home. I want to be with my babies. Period. I know it's a big world out there and I can probably land a job which will give me more experience and a nice title. True. But then, my priorities are different now. And eventhough at times it's tough to balance everything (family-work), it is so worth it! To see my pre schooler go and come home from school with a smile. To breastfeed my little one directly and kiss him anytime. These are the things that money can never buy and I will never ever trade them for anything else.

4. Working at home means COMFORT.
Yes! No need to wear hot, tight-fitting clothes, stockings, heels or office attire! Yahoooo! I wear my PJs all the time and I can work anywhere (as long as there is WiFi ofcourse!) I can also munch on food anytime without having to "spend". And yes, I can put my feet up anytime, anywhere! Can you do all of these in your office?(:

5. Working at home SAVES you a lot of money.
No need to commute. No need to buy lunch, snacks. No need to buy office clothes. No need to spend on unnecessary stuff. Need I say more?

There you have it! If my list still didn't convince you to start working from home, then we both have a different calling.(:

For me, this is my calling. For now I supposed. And I am enjoying every minute of it!(:
