Last weekend me and my family went up to Tagaytay to celebrate Ryu's (Little Manong) 5th month, my aunt's birthday by dining at this new Thai restaurant.
We got a pretty good deal from Deal Grocer (50% off the total bill! What a steal!) so it was perfect timing for all these celebrations! Oh how I missed the Tagaytay breeze! And the weather was perfect that afternoon as I chit chat, relax and eat with my loved ones.
Lime and Basil
Lime and Basil is a family owned restaurant tucked somewhere in Tagaytay. I love the "homey" feeling of this place which you will immediately feel once you enter their premises.
Wide, open space! Hello Dady and MigMig!(:
I love their garden! It's wide enough for the kids to play and run around as you wait for your food.
I just have to include my happy baby (:
I can stay here all afternoon!
Lovin' the details!
You can choose to lounge/eat here
The interior of the place was really nice and well-thought of.
Enjoy your drink here!
Tom Yum Goong: Hot and Sour Soup with Shrimps
For starters we had Soup and Spring Rolls. The Soup was superb! I like how it made me feel all warm inside. Plus it was oozing with flavors. The Spring Rolls were also good and it became my family's favorite that night.
Fresh Spring Rolls: Rolled Herbs, Carrots, Cabbage, Tofu, Noodles, Sweet Chili Relish
I'm a fan of Chicken Sate and Lime and Basil's version did not disappoint! Be sure to dip it in their signature sawsawan!
Sate Chicken: Grilled Chicken Skewer, Peanut Sauce, Cucumber Relish
Pad Thai Noodles
Anyone who knows me would know what my order is... Shrimp ofcourse! I had to order extra rice for this because the sauce was so delicious (I had to make simot!)!
Goong Pad Nam-Shrimps with Basil: Stir-fried Shrimps, Roasted Chili, Crispy Basil
The star of the night: Crispy Pata Curry! Interesting twist, right? I love that even if the Pata was drenched in sauce, the balat was still crispy enough for me! I finished almost half of the balat (not healthy, I know!)!
Crispy Pata Curry
I'd go back for this! I'm not a Mango fan, but this Mango was really sweet! But what I love about this dessert is the Sticky Rice! So addicting! The taste and texture was really unique (for me) and my family had to order another serving of this!
This is SO YUMMY!! Sticky Rice with Mango
All in all Lime and Basil is one the best Thai restaurants I've ever tried. The place is best for families (and yes even couples) who enjoy driving up to Tagaytay and to have a unique meal experience. Each serving of their dish is good for 2-3 persons (depends on your appetite!) and would cost around P500-600/head. Not bad for the amazing place and delicious food!
